Throneroom 1: Heaven’s Door Is Open

A gentle wind whispers in your ear, carrying faint echoes of a heavenly chorus. You find yourself standing between two worlds, your heart racing with curiosity and reverent fear.

Above, suspended in air, is a door—not locked, but standing wide open, inviting you to step through.

Suddenly, a voice, majestic yet tender, echoes "Come up here…" (Revelation 4:1)

In an instant, you’re ushered through the portal, stepping into realms your mind could never have imagined.

Before you stands a throne radiant with overwhelming glory, its brilliance like sunlight refracting through priceless gems.

"At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it" (Revelation 4:2).

A rainbow arcs around the throne, shaking with power, but humming with something comforting beneath the surface: mercy, covenant… grace.

The one sitting on the throne is faithful and true. Elders offer their crowns at his feet.

Mysterious creatures covered with eyes call continually, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" (Revelation 4:8)

Time pauses.

Chaos ceases.

Fear dissolves.

In this sacred place, John’s mind races with millions of questions. But one thing is certain…

God sits enthroned, sovereign above all.

Understanding heaven and God’s Kingdom is important. When we peer into John 4, we have to think about what’s NOT there just as much as what’s there.

When John peers into God’s throne room, he doesn’t see a temple or church building. He doesn’t see wild roots growing into radiating trees.

He sees, first and foremost, a throne.

Long before John, prophets had glimpsed this very throne room.

"High above on the throne was a figure like that of a man… brilliant light surrounded him… like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day" (Ezekiel 1:26-28).

"I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple…" Angels cried continuously, "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory" (Isaiah 6:1–3).

Yet John’s vision is different… it’s profoundly personal.

The throne is still radiant with holiness and glory, yet the open door signifies an invitation.

This is not a throne that pushes us away, but one that draws us close. The rainbow around God’s throne reminds us of His promise in Noah’s story

Our God wields both holy judgment and profound mercy.

HEAVEN is a SYMPHONY singing to God’s holiness!
We tried to capture that in our AI Animation. In a world of wicked people using AI for selfish purposes, it’s refreshing to use these tools to worship JESUS!

We’re invited to the throne room.

Just as John heard those words, “Come up here.” We, too, are beckoned by Christ’s voice to join Him.

Although the vision was terrifying, John felt comfortable stepping forward. Why?

Because the mercy and grace of God give us boldness.

"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).

We don’t approach timidly, but boldly. For this throne is occupied not only by Almighty God, but by Jesus, the Lamb who was slain for us, who transforms judgment into grace.

Today, the same door John saw stands open for you. No matter the storm swirling around you, heaven has a center: a throne, unshakable and glorious.

God reigns there, sovereign over your every circumstance. His holiness ensures justice, and His rainbow promises mercy.

The invitation is clear: step through the open door. Move closer. Trust the One seated above every power and circumstance. His throne means:

  • Your life is never beyond His control.
  • His promises toward you will never fail.
  • His mercy and grace overflow in abundance.

Let your heart join the chorus of heaven: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty."
