Across the pages of Scripture, the battle between good and evil rages. Sometimes the battle is quiet. But very often, it’s violent.
In Revelation, we glimpse the cosmic war in all its terrifying splendor. We witness the last great struggle: the ultimate defeat of the dragon, Satan himself.
Who is Satan’s first challenger?
It isn’t Jesus… But Michael the Archangel.
Michael appears, his armor blazing with heavenly fire, leading legions of angels. Opposite him, the dragon rises—great and terrible.
Satan, filled with fury, rallies his fallen angels for one last desperate rebellion against the throne of God.
But as grand as this battle might appear, the outcome is never in question.
The Dragon is doomed to fall (Revelation 12:7-9)
Imagine the deafening clash, the angelic armies surging forward, their weapons of radiant power burning through darkness.
Michael stands strong and resolute, unwavering.
Satan, for all his power, pride, and delusion, is no match for heaven’s army.
In a flash of holy judgment, he is cast down from the heavenly realms, his defeat echoing through the heavens like thunder.
And in that instant, heaven erupts in celebration:
“Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down… and they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb…” (Revelation 12:10–11)
No more accusations. No more condemnation from the evil one. The dragon falls, banished forever from his place of accusation and slander.
But the battle is not yet completely over.
On Earth, the dragon unleashes his fury upon humanity, knowing his time grows short.
The earth trembles beneath his wrath, chaos intensifies, and suffering multiplies. Yet his fury is only temporary. His doom is already sealed.
In Revelation 19, the climax arrives: Christ Himself descends from heaven.
Not meekly, not gently as before—but as a mighty Warrior-King upon a white horse.
His robe is dipped in blood. His name tattooed on his thigh: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:16)
The armies of heaven follow Him, and before the glory of Christ, the armies of darkness melt away.
A sword from Christ’s mouth vanquishes the Antichrist’s false dominion, and the entire empire of evil crumbles before His majesty.
In Revelation 20, the ancient dragon is seized, chained, and hurled into the abyss.
For a thousand years, evil is bound. And when, in one final futile rebellion, Satan is released to deceive the nations once more, fire descends from heaven, consuming all opposition.
And Satan, the great deceiver, is forever cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10)

It sounds like mythology, doesn’t it?
But it’s our future.
A future of victory over evil.
Satan’s power, while frightening, was always limited. He was allowed space, allowed time—but always under God’s sovereign authority.
Ultimately, this is Christ’s story.
From beginning to end, He is the victor. The Lamb who was slain is also the Lion of Judah, who conquers every enemy, every deceiver, every darkness.
You may face temptation, doubt, persecution, and suffering. But Revelation reminds us that the battle belongs to Jesus.
Satan never stood a chance. He was always destined to fall.
Christ alone is the hero of the story.
